NAKASERO – President Yoweri Museveni has lost an aunt who has been incapacitated in a wheel chair for years with burial scheduled for Friday.
“I regret to announce the death of one of my paternal aunts (tatenkazi), Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano (97). She died at 8pm last night (Thursday July 28th, 2021) at Nakasero from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair,” reads a twit from his handle.
It did not give details of the burial but only added, “She will be buried at Rwakitura, tomorrow July 29, 2021)”. Rwakitura in western Uganda is the President’s ancestral home.
However as norm has been during Covid-19 pandemic, few people especial close relative are expected to attend burial.
It is also not clear if the President will be part of the sendoff ceremony for the late.
Meanwhile President Museveni has rescheduled his address to the nation after 42 days look down to Friday, a day earlier.
The lockdown ends on Friday, July 30, 2021 and many people were warming up to return to work. It is not clear if the President will open up or extend the lock down to further contain the Covid-19.
A reliable source told East African Vanguard that the lock down is to be eased with boda boda being banned from the Kampala central business district.
