Tanzania, Rwanda top fuel prices list

KIGALI – Tanzania and Rwanda are ranked among the 10 African countries with the highest fuel prices in Africa, with averages stretching well past (U$2.00\) per litre
Landlocked geographies, elevated import costs, and local tax policies heavily influence these rankings.
Fuel is the primary lifeblood of any economy because it powers transportation, drives industrial production, and heats homes. Without it, supply chains collapse, production stalls, and the overall cost of living skyrockets.
Based on up-to-date figures from GlobalPetrolPrices and regional economic reports, the 10 African countries with the highest petrol prices are:
- Malawi: $3.832 per liter
- Zimbabwe: $2.080 per liter
- Rwanda: $2.010 per liter
- Central African Republic: $1.879 per liter
- Sierra Leone: $1.779 per liter
- Senegal: $1.653 per liter
- Seychelles: $1.632 per liter
- Cabo Verde: $1.603 per liter
- Tanzania: $1.587 per liter
- South Africa: $1.586 per liter
