NWSC new five years strategic plan

KAMPALA – The National Water and Sewerage Corporation has unveiled a five years strategic plan aimed at designed to expand access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water services across urban centres.
According to Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, Managing Director, National Water and Sewerage Corporation, (NWSC), the Strategic Plan 2025–2030, sets out a clear roadmap to deliver “Water for All for Health and Prosperity.
” It is aligned with Uganda’s national development frameworks, including Vision 2040 and NDP IV,” he said.
NWSC provides clean, safe drinking water to about 20 million people across urban centers in Uganda. This service relies on a vast infrastructure network, which includes over 31,000 public stand posts and nearly one million direct water connections.
Eng. Silver said the plan’ key priorities including infrastructure expansion, environmental protection, digital transformation, improved customer experience, and financial sustainability.
“NWSC targets to increase the population served from 20 million to 26 million people, expand pipeline networks, reduce water losses, and enhance efficiency in service delivery. The Corporation emphasised that achieving these goals will require strengthened partnerships, innovation, and sustainable financing, calling on stakeholders to support the collective effort to ensure equitable access to clean and safe water for all Ugandans,” he further explains.
