Parents urged to monitor children’ smart mobile phones usage

BUSIA – Parents have been urged to ensure children use smart phones to enhance their education other than playing games.
Speaking at the traditional wedding of Stephen Wandera and Dinah Sanyu Mdebe in Busia, Rev. Geoffrey Efumbi, Parish Priest, Bunyadeti Parish in Buhehe Subcounty said smart phones offers many advantages, such as easy access to information, communication with peers and parents, and convenient tools for learning.

“As I bless this couple, the couple have a peaceful marriage and blessed children. I also pray for our children to make use of smart phone for the better. Parents ensure childern don ot use the phone for ponography and joining homosexuality.”
He however, there are also potential drawbacks, such as addiction, distraction, cyberbullying, and compromised privacy.
The colorful event full of merry making of eats and drinks as well as performance by Herbert Murudi, eighteen years old disabled artists who is called on well-wishers sponsor his education.

In family of four siblings lost both parents in 2023 when a boat they were travelling capsized in Lake Victoria.
Murudi, bread winner in the family, survives by performing at such functions and to take care of his bothers and sisters.
