Museveni inaugurates Shs47 billions plant

NAMAVE – President Yoweri Museveni has inaugurating the new Phase IV Ultra-Modern Cold Rolling Mill Complex at in Namanve Industrial Park.
According to State Minister for Trade David Bahati, the state-of-the-art US$125 million () facility features Level 2 automation and advanced steel manufacturing technology, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 metric tonnes.

“It includes facilities for cold rolling, galvanising and colour coating. The new plant will produce high-quality steel products designed to last for decades, reducing reliance on imported steel coils while strengthening Uganda’s manufacturing capacity and positioning the country to serve markets across Africa,” he posted of his X handle Tuesday August 25th, 2026.
Bahati further explained, “Roofings currently has the capacity to produce 4.2 million iron sheets every month and more than 50 million sheets annually demonstrating Uganda’s growing industrial potential”.
