Military Police tipped on Professionalism
KAMPALA – Military Police has been told to act professionalism when executing their duties especially when dealing with the civilian.
“Always perform your duties and responsibilities with a high level of professionalism even when dealing with the civilian as a good example to the population.
The Commandant Military Police, Brigadier General William Bainomugisha made at the call at the closure of a two-week leadership workshop for Military Police Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers.
He said discipline and being exemplary should be paramount in their daily lives and in the execution of their duties of enforcing discipline in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces.
Col Musenene the Military Police Brigade Operations and Training Officer said the workshop enhanced cohesion between the command and staff, bridged the gaps and improved the discipline amongst the Military Police personnel.
Lt Col R. Ochieng on behalf of the participants said that the workshop has equipped them with the knowledge and skills that shall assist them during the execution of their duties.
Commanding Officers of units under the Military Police, Heads of Departments and Regimental Sergeant Majors attended the training.
Political commentators have in the past blamed Military Police for using excessive against opposition politicians during protests.
