RWAKYITURA – President Yoweri Museveni took his valuable time to train his grandchildren in good cattle-raring techniques.
“This morning, I spent some time with the cows (Okusetura) in Rwakyitura, accompanied by some of our family members who are immersing themselves in the world of herding,” he tweeted on X.
In an engagement that happened Friday, January 10th, 2025, he said “We had an enlightening discussion about paddocking techniques, rotational grazing, and the best practices for nurturing vibrant, healthy livestock.”

In a similar engagement recently at the farm in Kisozi, Gomba District, he said, “I had an illuminating conversation with my grandson on; culture, heritage, and agriculture, while we herded. I appraised him of the basics in ensuring high milk yields irrespective of the physical look of cows.”
He added, “Like I always state, we should not concentrate on the physical look of cows, their colour, the shape of horns etc. The priority is to concentrate on milk yield, beauty is important but secondary. This is the best calculation for those rearing cattle.”
President Museveni who turned 80 years is expected to retire soon with passing over such knowledge to grandchildren is a clear signal.
