UPDF destroy Allied Democractric Front camp

DR CONGO – Uganda People Developed Force (UPDF) and the  Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) have destroyed an Allied Democratic Front (ADF) camp. According to a press statement issued on September 23rd 2024, a number of the rebels were killed, arms recovered and abductees rescured in the ongoing Operation Shujja,.

“In an intelligence-led operation against an enemy group east of the Ibiena River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, resulted in significant casualties and demoralization for the enemy, who were also forced to surrender eight (08) SMGs and one (01) PK machine gun,” said Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye. Brigadier General Felix Kulayigye, spokesperson UPDF.

He further explains, “Additionally, 38 abductees including women and children born in captivity were freed by the combined forces. As we pursue the ADF terrorists, we congratulate our generals, officers, and men who participated in Operation Shujja and wish the combined forces many more successes in the defence of our territorial integrity.”
