UPDF in South Sudan begin national ID renewal

Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) troops deployed in South Sudan under “Operation Mlinzi wa Kimya” have on November 08, 2025 commenced the renewal exercise of their National Identification Cards.
Brigadier General Anthony Lukwago Mbuusi, Commander of the Joint Task Force led the exercise and urged all troops to actively participate.
He commended the National Identification and Registration Authority for simplifying the renewal process and making the service accessible to the security personnel on duty abroad, advising the UPDF troops in South Sudan to make the most of the opportunity to renew their National IDs.
Senior officers, including Battle Group Commander Colonel Benard R. Kashemeza, along with other commanding and staff officers, also took part in the activity.
