URSB, Kwanza Logistics make partnership

KAMPALA – The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) held a strategic engagement with Kwanza Logistics, the managers of the Made in Uganda consortium, to explore a partnership aimed at promoting business formalisation and intellectual property protection among local manufacturers.
Through the collaboration, URSB will support vendors on the Made in Uganda online portal to register their businesses and trademarks. The two institutions will also conduct joint awareness sessions and training programmes focusing on business registration, intellectual property rights, and the benefits of formalisation.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Allan Kakungulu, Ass. Commissioner Trademarks and Geographical Indications reaffirmed URSB’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s private sector.
“We shall support through initiatives that foster innovation, brand protection, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. The partnership with Kwanza Logistics, will ensure entrepreneurs on the Made in Uganda platform understand the importance of registering and safeguarding their businesses and brands,” he said.
Mr. Moses Byaruhanga, the Managing Director Kwanza Logistics expressed appreciation for URSB’s commitment to the growth of local enterprises.
“The partnership is timely to the Made in Uganda initiative by equipping vendors with the knowledge and tools needed to build sustainable and credible businesses,” said Kagungulu .
The Made in Uganda platform, launched during the National Science Week, connects consumers to a wide range of Ugandan-made products across several categories. It forms part of Uganda’s broader strategy to promote local production, enhance market access for homegrown brands, and strengthen the competitiveness of Ugandan enterprises in both local and international markets.
