ITURI, DR Congo – In the last 24 hours, the DRC reported 51 new confirmed cases, 20 deaths and 5 recoveries. The newly reported cases were recorded in Ituri Province and North Kivu Province
DR CONGO – As of 7 July 2026, the DRC has reported 1,759 confirmed cases, 600 deaths and 285 recoveries. While in the last 24 hours, the DRC reported 51 new confirmed cases, 20 deaths and 5 recoveries.
According to a press statement from Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the newly reported cases were recorded in Ituri Province and North Kivu Province.
“Ituri remains the epicentre of the outbreak, with 1,601 confirmed cases reported to date. North Kivu has reported 155 confirmed cases, while South Kivu has reported 3 confirmed cases,” it reads.
Adding, “Response teams continue to focus on surveillance, contact tracing, laboratory testing, case management, infection prevention and control, risk communication, and community engagement in the affected areas.
The statement further reads, In its neighbour, as of 7 July 2026, Uganda has reported 20 confirmed cases, 2 deaths and 16 recoveries. Uganda reported no new confirmed cases, deaths, recoveries or contacts in the latest reporting period. All listed contacts have completed the 21-day follow-up period.”
