Chinese Firm To Invest Shs100 Billion In Computer Plant

ENTEBBE – CN Light Technology, a China-based computer and information technology company, is to set up an accessories assembly plant Ambassador Kilonzo Kiema, Li Kaifu, the company’ President, Li Hong told President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. In a press statement issued 28th February 2024 the company is to invest US$30 million in the project.
In the meeting that took place at State House Entebbe, the Team led by Ambassador Kilonzo was attended by Li Hong CN Vice President and Martin Grabler-Senior Project Advisor.
President Museveni welcomed the group to Uganda and assured them of the government’s support.
In another development, President Museveni, received Ambassador (Rtd) Mohamed El-Hamzawi, a former Egyptian diplomat in Uganda. He was accompanied by a consortium of Egyptian private sector companies who are interested in developing the sports infrastructure and facilities in Uganda.
The consortium comprises; Samco-National Construction Company represented by Eng Ibrahim Mabrouk, the Vice chairman of the company, Khater Sports represented by Eng. Yehia Radwan, the leader in specialised sports contracting, Estadat Holding company (deals in sport facilities management) as well as El Raied International Engineering Consultants.
They discussed the possibility of constructing and managing stadiums and sports facilities in Uganda.
“Sports facilities development is an untapped area, and we feel that our Ugandan brothers and sisters need to develop it and we are ready to offer support,” El -Hamzawi informed the President. This development comes in the wake of the successful East Africa Pamoja bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
