Centenary Bank open Kalongo branch

KOLONGO – Centenary Bank has officially opened its Kalongo Branch in Agago District, marking its 81st branch nationwide and the 13th in Northern Uganda, as the Bank continues to strengthen its commitment to bringing financial services closer to communities across the country.
The new branch marks another milestone in Centenary Bank’s continued expansion strategy aimed at increasing access to inclusive, convenient, and customer-centred banking services, particularly in underserved and growing economic regions.
Located in the heart of Kalongo Town Council, the branch will provide a full range of banking services, including savings and current accounts, business banking, agricultural financing, SACCO support, digital banking solutions, money transfers, and financial literacy support tailored to individuals, SMEs, farmers, institutions, and community groups.
Speaking during the launch Thursday May 28th, 2026, Fabian Kasi, Managing Director, Centenary Bank, noted that the opening of the Kalongo Branch reflects the bank’s long-term commitment to supporting economic empowerment and grassroots development in Northern Uganda.

“Kalongo and the wider Northern region are home to hardworking farmers, entrepreneurs, traders and small businesses that contribute significantly to Uganda’s economy. Access to financial services is critical in supporting their ambitions and strengthening livelihoods,” he said.
With a population exceeding 300,000 people in Agago district, largely dependent on agriculture and microenterprises, Centenary Bank offers a great reach of financial inclusion and meaningful socio-economic impact to the people in and around the area of Kalongo.
“For perspective, since opening on 30 June 2025, the branch has served nearly 4,000 customers, 11 agents, and several institutions, mobilizing over UGX 1.4 billion in deposits and disbursing more than UGX 2.4 billion in loans, demonstrating the area’s strong economic potential,” Kasi added.
The branch opening comes at a time when financial inclusion remains critical to accelerating socio-economic transformation, particularly within rural and semi-urban communities. By bringing banking services closer to customers, Centenary Bank aims to reduce travel distances, Public – Centenary
